Paid judgments and collections are more serious than past slow pays, but you will deal with them with the same steps.
First, bookmark this page (press CTRL-D) and then go get a copy of your credit report and look for any incorrect information. Specifically, you need to make sure that anything you paid off shows as paid. You'll also want to make certain that your past creditor doesn't misrepresent how many times you were late, dates of late payments, etc. And, of course, look for any errors on other accounts and any signs of accounts that are not yours while you are at it. You may want to start with the "online report", but to be certain of what is out there you will need the "3 in 1" "merged" report. There are three major national credit bureaus and they don't always report the same information. Get the report and dispute any incorrect information.
