Slow payments in the past may not affect your credit as much as you think. If your last late payment has been over 2 years and you have current active "trade lines" on your credit report, your credit score is probably pretty good. What should you do?
First, bookmark this page (press CTRL-D) and then go get a copy of your credit report and look for any incorrect information. To get a copy of your credit report go here ---
You may want to start with the "online report", but to be certain of what is out there you will need the "3 in 1" "merged" report. There are three major national credit bureaus and they don't always report the same information. Get the report and dispute any incorrect information. You can do this by following the instructions that come with the credit report or, if you need help try this link ---
Your next step after making sure there are no errors (and that includes such things as showing late pays later than they were, more recent than they were or showing more late pays than occurred) should be to apply for a home loan -- you can do that online here. Return to Main Page.
